Jack, the numbers don’t lie:
- 1 in 6 local election officials has reported experiencing threats because of their job.
- 3 in 4 local election officials say that threats against them have increased in recent years.
- Almost 1 in 3 local election officials say they know of at least one election worker who left their job partly because of fears for their safety, increased threats, or intimidation.
- 3 in 5 local election officials say they are concerned that threats and harassment will make retaining or recruiting election workers harder.
Those numbers are unacceptable. We must reelect Maggie as our Secretary of State – can you imagine what will happen if her opponent is elected? Her opponent thinks we should do away with early voting and same-day registration because it increases voter fraud. It’s lies like these that perpetuate violence against election workers.
As Maggie creates state and federal law enforcement partnerships, improves physical security at the polls, and ensures election workers have more safety training, tell her we have her back.
