John,
This week, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt’s signed the most restrictive abortion ban in the country into law — Senate Bill 612 makes performing an abortion or attempting to perform one a felony and carries a fine of up to $100,000 or ten years in prison.
This is just the latest in far-right attempts to regulate reproductive health.
John, take action and stand with us to send a message to keep these abortion bans off our bodies.
Since the Texas abortion ban went into effect, Oklahoma providers have been accommodating a massive increase of patients from Texas seeking refuge and treatment.
This law is devastating and it’s another example of an emboldened anti-choice attack, enabled by the refusal of the Supreme Court to strike down SB8 in Texas.
If the law isn’t blocked, Oklahoma will be forced to stop providing abortions by August — and Oklahomans, Texans, and people across the South will encounter even greater obstacles as they seek reproductive care.
The Senate must pass the Women’s Health Protection Act and codify Roe v. Wade, but it’s clear that we can’t rely on the federal government or the courts alone to save us.
Stand with us and help us take action to elect prochoice champions by adding your name here.
We must organize down-ballot and elect pro-choice champions in state legislatures, district attorneys’ offices, and elected judgeships across the country to protect the right to an abortion.
Our bodily autonomy depends on it.
Thank you for being with us,
#VOTEPROCHOICE
