Dear MoveOn member,
For the past year, Congress has been talking about President Biden's clean-energy plan to address climate change.
Earth Day is next week—the time when all politicians, media outlets, and corporations turn their attention to the environment. Recently, Senator Joe Manchin finally outlined policies he would support, after months of obstructing progress.1 And while Sen. Manchin finally moved to make progress, it was revealed that Senator Kyrsten Sinema privately told donors that she believes a path to revival for Build Back Better is unlikely.2 It's time to take action. This could be the moment to break out of discussing climate investments into enacting them and making an impact on the timely climate crises we are facing.
On Saturday, April 23, MoveOn is partnering on Fight for Our Future rallies in cities and towns across the country to demand that Congress deliver for climate, care, jobs, and justice—and you're invited to join us! It's time to raise the pressure and demand action on climate change now.
The world's largest climate science review recently gave the stark assessment that it's "now or never" to avoid reaching tipping points on climate change that could spin out of control.3 But the U.S. can still meet its global commitments if we act now—all that's missing is political will.4 That's where we come in.
It's time for all of our elected officials to be climate change champions. We need them to impress on reluctant senators like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema that millions are suffering while they continue to drag their feet. Our pressure can be a catalyst for them to act.
It can be easy to feel daunted by the scale of the climate crisis. But we can't let that prevent us from putting one foot in front of the other until our country makes the changes needed to begin reversing the devastating effects wreaking havoc on our communities. Inaction is not an option, and time is of the essence.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? Right-wing groups are spending tens of millions of dollars on TV ads to smear critical progressive legislation. Meanwhile, donations to progressive groups like MoveOn are plummeting now that a Democrat is in the White House, meaning we don’t have the resources to fight back. That's a huge problem, and that's why we urgently need your support.
Will you chip in to fight right-wing lies and pass urgent legislation to confront the multiple crises our country faces?
