I just finished updating our April fundraising numbers and I hate to admit it, but I’m feeling nervous. We are well short of where we aim to be right now for April fundraising.
I get it -- redistricting headlines are fading into the background and there’s less urgency in the air. But that is far from the case here at All On The Line. We’re still actively fighting in some of our target states which could have a big impact on how the next decade of elections shapes up.
Republicans continue to use every trick in the book to try and grab every ounce of power they can through map manipulation. It was stunning to see Republican Governor Ron DeSantis veto maps that had already been gerrymandered in favor of his own even more gerrymandered proposal.
My job as Finance Coordinator is to keep track of our fundraising numbers and raise the alarm when we’re close to not meeting a goal. And this is one of those moments.
We need to hit our mid-month goal to ensure that, around the country, our on-the-ground teams continue to have all of the resources they need to fight against map manipulation and our litigation team can continue to fight gerrymandered maps in court.
I don’t want to look back and feel like I didn’t do enough to explain just how important this moment is for the next decade of elections and legislative decisions. Please, pitch in whatever you can to help us hit our mid-month goal: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/aotl-fairelections
Thanks,
