Dear Friend –
Your emails and calls to Congress are working – our contacts on Capitol Hill just confirmed yesterday that Yemen is being discussed at the highest levels of the negotiations on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
But more calls, RIGHT NOW, are urgently needed >>
Pressure is mounting for leaders to hammer out a deal on the NDAA in the next few days before Thanksgiving. We need Speaker Pelosi to ensure that an unconditional ban on the sale and transfer of arms for the war in Yemen remains in the NDAA bill to the very end – no matter what.
Earlier this month, the news broke that peace talks have resumed among the warring parties in Yemen. Now we need to build on this positive momentum to keep the parties engaged and committed to an inclusive process. Stopping the flow of arms into this conflict will support these fledgling peace efforts, and is the best way for America to signal to Saudi Arabia and the UAE that the people of Yemen need an end to this war and suffering once and for all.
Below is a previous message I sent, and we've reached another key moment NOW to activate our collective power. These calls do make a difference so thank you for taking two minutes out of your day to stand up for the people of Yemen.
