John, we have under 5 weeks left before May 17th.
That is Primary Day for four incredible candidates running for District Attorney:
They are ALL people who are committed to ending mass incarceration, fighting for true justice, holding the police accountable, and prioritizing investment in community services, rather than criminalization.
We fight to elect progressive DAs because this work saves LIVES. So often, these races are ignored in favor of bigger, flashier races. That means the status quo often remains in place.
District Attorneys have the power to keep the police in check.
They have the power to undo harmful policies that contribute to mass incarceration.
They have the power to free those who are wrongfully convicted — and stop those convictions from ever happening in the first place.
They can put policies in place that invest in LONG under-funded community services that actually address the root causes of crime and violence.
But in order to change who holds these positions, we need to put in the work.
