I’m reaching out with two actions I hope your organization will consider taking this week to advance equity in Medicaid programs.
First, Families USA is circulating a sign on letter to the Biden administration thanking CMS for issuing its recent guidance and offering recommendations on additional actions they should take to ensure states resumption of Medicaid redeterminations at the end of the federal Public Health Emergency is as smooth as possible. We hope you will join us using this form by Friday, 4/15, at 5PM EST.
Second, we are happy to share a new template to help your organization submit comments in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recent Request for Information (RFI) on how to provide better, equitable access to care through CHIP and Medicaid. The deadline to submit comments is Monday, April 18.
In both cases, we are urging the administration to improve and protect Medicaid coverage and access as part of its stated commitment to health equity and health care justice, and take specific steps to center equity in this work.
