John: New Mexicans are facing rising prices everywhere from the gas pump to the grocery store. In response, Gov. Lujan Grisham is giving up to $1,500 in household relief to 1.1 million taxpayers across the state.
In a special session this week, Gov. Lujan Grisham called to deliver $500 to single filers and $1,000 to joint filers, distributed in two parts – one in early summer and one in August. That’s on top of checks in July for taxpayers making less than $75,000 alone or $150,000 filing jointly.
The bottom line: Gov. Lujan Grisham is focused on moving New Mexico forward by making sure every New Mexican has the support they need to thrive.
But all the while, New Mexico GOP leaders have made their opposition clear. They don’t support Gov. Lujan Grisham’s economic relief, and if they were in charge, New Mexicans would be getting $0.
In the face of the GOP’s attacks, it couldn’t be a more critical moment to hear where grassroots Democrats stand. We need another 29 responses before midnight, and yours is still missing.
Please, respond to our poll before it closes at midnight:
Do you support Gov. Lujan Grisham's passing of relief for New Mexico households?
