Dear John,

Our hearts and minds are with the victims of the horrific incident on the subway in New York yesterday.

Incidents such as this one illuminate the urgency of our work and the desperate need for effective gun violence prevention measures -- measures like the ones that President Biden just took this week, including: 

• Nominating Steve Dettlebach, who is a highly respected former U.S. Attorney, to serve as the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF)
• Releasing a historic, life-saving rule to regulate ghost guns

When leaders do the right thing, when they prioritize the health and safety of citizens over the profits of the gun industry, we must let them know that we noticed!  So, we hope you will join us by signing on to our thank you note to President Biden.

While Republicans in our state legislature and Congress continue to ignore the devastation caused by gun violence, we need to encourage and show our gratitude to the leaders, who are willing to stand up to the gun industry.

That's why we asked you to join us in thanking Governor Evers for vetoing a set of life-endangering pro-gun bills last week, and that's why we're hoping you'll join us in thanking President Biden right now!
