There is currently an effort circulating to place a new initiative on the ballot to give voters the constitutional right to vote on all new state taxes or tax increases. It also works to enhance transparency on tax increase proposals as well, requiring the clear explanation on use, rate and duration of any new tax. The Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act would go a long way towards promoting accountability in our state government and protecting taxpayers that already face the debilitating impact of inflation and the sky-high taxes CA already charges its citizens. If you would like to do your part to make sure CA has an opportunity to vote on this proposal, please consider helping out with this initiative, and even taking a paid opportunity to gather signatures ahead of the deadline at the end of April. These county meetings are a great way to make a presence in local politics and network with fellow Republican activists leading the charge to Make Orange Red Again. The main guest speaker will be State Senator Brian Dahle from northern California, and he'll be coming down to OC to make his case for CA Governor.
