BIG NEWS from Campaign HQ! Tanya announced today that she raised nearly $400,000 in Quarter 1.

Since launching her campaign in August, Tanya has continuously gained momentum and national attention shown by her stellar fundraising total this quarter and endorsements from Chairwowman Elise Stefanik, Congressional Leadership Fund's Trailblazers Fund, Winning for Women, VIEWPAC, and Maggie's List. 

Tanya's campaign is gaining momentum and is already putting the plans needed in action to blow past this strong number next quarter. Tanya has shown she has the momentum and fundraising prowess needed to flip AZ-04 for Republicans and she is just getting started.

Tanya Contreras Wheeless launched her campaign for the U.S. Congress in August 2021. She is a proven leader with a track record of bringing people together to solve problems. Her vast professional experience includes lawyer, business association CEO, sports executive with the Phoenix Suns, small business owner, and community advocate. 

A valley native, she was born to teen parents and is the granddaughter of Mexican immigrants. She grew up in Peoria in a working-class family that often struggled, but despite the challenges, she learned the importance of faith, family, hard work, and personal responsibility. 

Driven by her desire to create a better life for herself, Tanya worked from the time she was 14. She put herself through Arizona State University, becoming the first person in her family to graduate from college. She went on to graduate from ASU Law with distinction, earning a job at one of the nation’s top law firms. 

Now, Tanya is ready to bring her experience and thoughtful leadership to Congress. She believes in the promise of the American dream and will fight to preserve it. She will embrace policies that empower people, not the government. And, she will always put Arizona first. 

Tanya lives in Tempe with her husband Steve, an attorney and former F-16 pilot in the U.S. Air Force. They have three wonderful children and two adorable dogs.
