It was a rainy day, and the boats were filled with police officers, IJM
investigators, social workers and a teenager named Geoffrey. 24 hours
before, the boats were taking Geoffrey to freedom. Today, they were
taking him back to the island where he was trapped as a slave.
Why?
Because on the night of Geoffrey’s rescue, he made a list of the names
of every other child he knew in slavery. Then he volunteered to help
rescue them, saying,
“There are other people there [who] are suffering…We should go back
and rescue them, too.”
One of those people was Esther.*
Geoffrey’s incredible bravery made freedom possible for Esther, who
in turn led authorities to even more children trapped on the
island.
But without your help, Geoffrey and Esther might still
be living in slavery.
With a gift today, you can send rescue to children and families who are
still trapped in slavery, providing freedom and healing to the people
who need it most.
And any gift made by December 16 will be doubled, up to
$292,600!
