Dear Fellow American,
If you think the BLM mobs looting stores and burning down buildings were scary...you should see what I witnessed right here in my own school.
My name is Jon Lizak, and I'm a sophomore at The State University of New York at Binghamton.
Since I'm the president of our conservative student club, I was excited to help sponsor a lecture by famed economist Dr. Art Laffer on campus last
fall.
Students were supposed to hear Dr. Laffer talk about how free markets and limited government made America great.
But that's not what happened - and that's why
I'm reaching out to you in the hope you'll help conservative students like me in defending free speech on campus with a tax-deductible gift to Young
America's Foundation today.
Instead, nearly 200 angry protestors started to gather in and outside of the lecture hall on the day of the event.
At this point, my friends and I were getting pretty nervous, but we figured as long as most of the protestors stayed outside, we'd be alright.
As soon as Dr. Laffer stepped to the podium, more than 100 protestors poured into the room -- ambushing Dr. Laffer's speech and screaming obscenities
into a bullhorn.
They stood on tables, screaming and shouting. Some wore bandanas to hide their faces. Others wore masks.
The leftists' bullhorn was even equipped with a light designed to "blind" the person standing in its path.
These violent radicals yelled in the faces of campus police and screamed that Dr. Laffer was a "racist" and a "bigot."
As the mob grew louder and larger, conservative students in the audience remained calm and courageous.
But what happened next was truly shocking.
Instead of campus police removing the rioters, Dr. Laffer was ordered to cancel his own speech and leave the stage!
I could hear the leftist mob chanting "No justice, no peace!" down the hallway as they followed campus police escorting Dr. Laffer from the building.
I'm still shocked at the hate that was directed at Dr. Laffer and the conservative students who came to hear him that day.
I'm angry that the money we raised to help cover Dr. Laffer's trip here - as well as to book the lecture hall - was wasted.
And I'm outraged that our right to free speech was SHUT DOWN BY LEFT-WING RADICALS WHO DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE'S VIEWS SHARED ON CAMPUS.
Binghamton University knowingly and willingly deprived us of our rights - and put the "rights" of foul-mouthed, violent protestors ahead of
ours.
The Left has been getting away with this kind of intimidation at schools across the country.
But here at Binghamton, we are fighting back!
Thanks to the conservative powerhouse organization Young America's Foundation (YAF), we are SUING Binghamton University for denying
conservative students like me our right to free speech.
Now I urgently need your help. With your
tax-deductible gift to Young America's Foundation today, you'll directly defend free speech on campus and the rights of students to hear conservative
ideas at SUNY-Binghamton and nationwide.
If you've heard of Young America's Foundation, then you know they are standing up for the rights of conservative students who are sick and tired of
being silenced by the radical Left.
And YAF gets results.
YAF sued UC Berkeley and won! Thanks to YAF's recent landmark free speech lawsuit, UC
Berkeley can no longer silence conservative speakers on campus.
Leftist school officials help create campus environments of hate and intolerance that make it dangerous for conservative speakers - and then require
students to pay outrageous "security fees" without paying a dime themselves.
Now conservative students at Berkeley will no longer have the burden of these enormous "security fees" placed upon them.
YAF also took the University of Florida to court - and won!
When the University of Florida denied conservative students requested funds to bring conservative speakers to campus, the University refused to
provide them with the same support they provide leftist student groups. But YAF forced them to reverse their unfair policy.
And YAF's defense of conservative students isn't just in the courtroom -- they are standing up for us in the classroom too.
Recently a student whistleblower at Iowa State University called YAF's Campus Bias Tip Line to expose a professor who threatened to kick
students out of her class if they disagreed with abortion or the Black Lives Matter movement.
Within one day, thanks to pressure from YAF, Iowa State ordered this professor to drop her discriminatory
class policy and respect the First Amendment rights of ALL students!
Yes, YAF is putting schools on notice:
Left-wing teachers and administrators don't have a right to bully and censor students like me who don't support socialism, the Marxist BLM movement,
and tearing down statues of our Founding Fathers!
But this battle against my school will not be easy.
Administrators are already digging in their heels and insisting that they "acted consistent with...the requirements of the First Amendment."
The truth is the only people who got "free speech" that day were the protestors. Dr. Laffer was never allowed to utter a word of his speech.
That isn't free speech...it's a "heckler's veto" - and it's time for this kind of violent mob rule to be shut down.
Obviously, as a 19-year-old student, there's no way I could ever fund a lawsuit like this on my own.
That's why I'm so grateful that Young America's Foundation is stepping up to protect our rights as conservatives.
But remember, enormous state schools such as Binghamton have millions of dollars in taxpayer funding lining their pockets.
That's why YAF must rely on American patriots like you who care that YOUR values will be passed on to the next generation.
I hope you will consider supporting Young
America's Foundation in their mission to pass on your ideas to future generations and legal actions against schools that violate students' legal
rights with a tax-deductible gift of $35 or more today.
Students at The State University of New York at Binghamton and countless other schools need the support and resources YAF provides to stand up to
leftist agitators.
YAF's conservative campus lecture program has enabled millions of students to hear about your conservative American values.
You see, in addition to Dr. Art Laffer, YAF sends Ben Shapiro, Dinesh D'Souza, Katie Pavlich, Dr. Walter Williams, Steve Forbes, and
many other conservative leaders to speak to students nationwide.
Plus, YAF is the organization that saved President Ronald Reagan's California ranch for future generations of conservatives.
Today the "Reagan Ranch" gives young people an escape from the leftist intolerance and hate found on many college campuses.
Visiting the Ranch allows young Americans like me (who have no memory of Reagan's presidency and aren't taught about him in school) to really
understand his legacy, so we can revere and emulate this great leader.
Frankly, nobody does youth outreach like Young America's Foundation. YAF is the one true leader in producing America's next conservative
leaders.
That's why I hope you'll help me and students
like me to hear YOUR conservative ideas with a gift of $35, $50, $75, $100, $500, $1,000 or more to Young America's Foundation today.
If you're able to give a very special gift of $1,000 or more, your name, or the name of a loved one, will be engraved on Freedom Wall at the Reagan
Ranch.
As I said, YAF doesn't receive one dime of federal funding.
Instead, they depend entirely on the generous support of American patriots like you.
So, if you agree that conservative speakers who share your values and ideas shouldn't be silenced by leftist mobs, professors, and administrators...
I hope you'll make an urgent tax-deductible
gift of $35 or more to Young America's Foundation today.
Thank you so much for joining me in showing the Left that there are still Americans who will speak up for our constitutional rights!
Gratefully,
Jon Lizak
Sophomore (Business Major)
Binghamton University
P.S. The mob of radicals who silenced conservatives and shut down Dr. Laffer's lecture will now have to face Young America's Foundation in court!
Will you please make a tax-deductible gift of
$35 or more to Young America's Foundation today to ensure we strike a decisive blow for free speech in federal court?
Thank you for giving conservatives - and me - the courage to stand up for the real American ideas that built our great nation.
