John, it’s no surprise that Republican extremists fought to keep Black women like Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson out of public office. They’re afraid that a gender and racial shift in government might kill the old boys' club that has existed in politics for centuries and perpetuated a system that benefits white men the most. And they should be scared.

Because when we win greater representation, we win real power. We bring the voices of structurally oppressed and deliberately excluded people into the rooms where decisions are made. That means real solutions for social and economic justice that benefit all our communities – not just a privileged few.

But that change only happens from the bottom up. Every Judge Jackson, Kamala Harris, and Ayanna Pressley gets their start at the local level. That’s why our work at Emerge is so important. We’re constantly reaching out to bold grassroots women to recruit, train, and ready them for the campaign trial and beyond. We provide the support that helps candidates overcome racism and sexism to win historic firsts. But we need your help.

If you’re ready to empower diverse Democratic women to level up their leadership, stare down racism and sexism, and gain real decision-making power, please donate $5 or more now – before our next big deadline at midnight tonight – to help Emerge recruit, train, and elect bold leaders up and down the ballot in every state.

Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are running up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities, such as the environment, accessible and affordable health care, social justice, and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support — that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women. If you’d like to donate, click here.
