USA Today: "Nearly 1 million low-income students would lose automatic access to free school lunches under a proposal from President Donald Trump's administration"

Take action now: Tell Congress to protect SNAP funding and ensure every child can learn at school without going hungry!

This is an abomination: Donald Trump's administration is proposing to slash food assistance funding for no- and low-income people - and nearly 1 million students could lose access to free or reduced lunches.

We can't overstate how abhorrent this decision is: No child should ever have to go to school hungry or worry about where their next meal will come from while they learn. Studies show that hungry students have a harder time learning, so students who are hungry now are likely to have fewer opportunities later as adults. It's a vicious cycle that we can absolutely prevent.

Policies like the ones the Trump administration are proposing are cruel ways to punish working people for not having economic opportunities or for being born into the wrong ZIP code. There is ZERO fiscal sense in policies that take aim at benefits to help working families and their children. It's a trickle-down sleight of hand: Give tax cuts to the ultrarich, then slash benefits from everyone else.

That's why we need your help this instant to demand Congress take action and protect critical benefits like SNAP which ensure children don't go hungry in school. Will you take action by clicking the link below to contact your members of Congress?

Take action now: Tell Congress to protect SNAP funding and ensure every child can learn at school without going hungry!

Thanks for causing trouble for trickle-downers and fighting for working families. We can't stop policies like these without your help.

In solidarity,

Stephen Paolini
