AFGHANISTAN | What's at Stake?
This month, Mrs. Laura Bush joined First Lady of Afghanistan Mrs. Rula Ghani and Ambassador Roya Rahmani for a U.S. Afghan’s Women’s Council meeting in Washington, D.C. During the meeting, Bush Institute’s Farhat Popal spoke about our newly-released policy recommendations focused on U.S. engagement in Afghanistan moving forward.

DOMESTIC EXCELLENCE | Applications Open for 2020 Warrior Open Tournament
Applications opened this week for the 2020 Bush Institute Warrior Open at the AT&T Byron Nelson. The Warrior Open, presented by AT&T, is a highly competitive golf tournament that underscores the importance of sports as a rehabilitation component for our men and women injured on the front lines. The tournament will be held May 3-4, 2020 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.

HUMAN FREEDOM | Escape from North Korea
Peter Oh escaped North Korea in 2000 in search for food. The 2019 North Korea Freedom Scholarship recipient is now pursuing his master’s degree in international policy and practice at George Washington University.
