I’ve had a lot of titles in my day, John – Naval Commander, Entrepreneur, Veteran, Congresswoman – but my favorite has got to be ‘Mom.’

To me, there is nothing more rewarding or inspiring than watching my daughter grow into a confident, smart, young woman.

Everything I do, I do for my daughter – being a mom is what compelled me to run for Congress in 2018.

And in Congress I’m fighting for a bright future for all of our kids, but I’m one of the most vulnerable House Democrats running for re-election. Can I count on you to rush a $25 donation today? Every dollar is crucial in a race as close as mine.

When I retired from the Navy, I thought my time serving the federal government was over.

But after two decades of protecting my country in uniform, I couldn’t sit idly by and watch Trump and his Republican allies in Congress move our country backwards and stoke division.

I wanted to be able to look my daughter in the eye and say that I stepped forward when my country needed me most.

And thanks to this team’s help in 2018, we were able to flip this seat blue and regain control of the House majority – putting an end to Trump’s supermajority in Congress.

Now, I want my daughter to know that I didn’t back down from serving my country in the face of Republican smear tactics or millions in GOP outside spending.

That’s why I’m emailing you today. I’m ready to go up against whatever national Republicans throw my way, but I can’t do it without your help.

Republicans spent $3 million trying to unseat me last cycle – and now that my district is a pure toss-up, I’m expecting them to spend even more.
