PEAK in Community
The latest news about our sector partnerships and how PEAK is advocating for more equitable grantmaking practices at conferences, convenings, and community conversations.
Kresge Foundation Director of Grants Management Genise Singleton recently hosted Satonya Fair and Sara Sanders, who spoke to her grants management team about PEAK’s role in advancing equitable practices, trust-based philanthropy, and the future of grants management and PEAK. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with the Kresge team and recognize how each member is leading at this pivotal moment.
Satonya continues to stay engaged with the Council on Foundations, supporting their Career Pathways program as a mentor and sharing her leadership journey with the 2022 spring cohort.
Satonya was honored to be the March guest speaker for BUILD, National Life Group's first DEI initiative, which comprises almost 200 financial services professionals of color across the United States. The fireside chat, titled “Connecting the Dots,” was led by BUILD Cofounder NeAndre Broussard and focused on helping participants move from being transactional to transformational in their local communities.
Chantias Ford spoke at the Council of Michigan Foundations program “How Our Values Shape Our Work,” part of their 2022 Equity Signature Series, to share information and resources on PEAK's Tying Practices to Values Principle and how grantmaking institutions can improve their organizational culture, practices, and values. You can find the session recording here.
Altinay Cortes, Clare Larson, and Sara Sanders welcomed our strategic partner Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) as an Organization Member this month, hosting a virtual orientation for the entire staff. PEAK's membership team plans to continue the conversation by meeting with the EPIP membership team later this spring.
