The NYS Budget has been finalized. While it included $400 million in the Environmental Bond Act for green public buildings, $250 million for electrification and weatherization of low-income housing, and the passage of the long-awaited geothermal tax credit, many of the other bills we have been fighting for including the All-Electric Building Act, the Advanced Building, Appliance, and Equipment Standards Act, and the Gas Transition and Affordable Energy Act were left out. See Renewable Heat Now’s press release here.

We’re not giving up - we’re gearing up for a big push to pass these critical climate bills on Earth Day! Join us tonight at the Renewable Heat Now Power Hour below to get all the updates and to strategize with us on next steps. Also please use this social media toolkit to tweet at your representatives between now and Earth Day (4/22) to help us build the pressure we need to defeat the fossil fuel industry!
