So, here’s the situation: every month we set fundraising benchmarks to ensure we have the resources to defeat right-wing extremists in the CAGOP and defend our Democratic leaders in tough districts like Representatives Katie Porter and Mike Levin.
It might seem like Election Day is a long way off – but the CAGOP is already busy. Last month they received a HUGE check from their big oil backers at Chevron, which they’ll no doubt use to flood battleground districts with disingenuous attack ads against our Democratic candidates.
This team, on the other hand, is powered by everyday grassroots activists like you, John.
It might not seem like a lot compared to the six-figure checks the CAGOP rakes in from polluting industries, but when committed Democrats like you chip in $5, and $10 at a time, we build a grassroots movement infinitely more powerful than the far-right’s.
So when we went into ActBlue this morning to check our progress towards our mid-month goal, we were a little worried. We need grassroots activists like you to step up and pitch in if we’re going to defeat the far-right this November.
