On January 6, 2021, our democracy was attacked, part of a growing authoritarian, anti-democratic movement that continues to spread misinformation, question election outcomes and limit voting rights. Whether we are black, white, or brown, have deep roots in the US, or are newcomers, we all value having a strong voice in our democracy. These attacks are an attempt to divide us from one another and discourage us from uniting and making our voices heard. And yet no reforms have passed to strengthen our democracy and mitigate the extremism that led to the attack and that continues to threaten it.
We have a democratic emergency, and it’s time to come together and act accordingly.
Join democracy reform organizations, legislative allies and voters across the state on Wednesday, May 4 at 2PM in the Minnesota Capitol Rotunda to rally for action on Ranked Choice Voting, voting rights, campaign finance, and other reforms that offer proven, achievable and powerful solutions to build the multiracial and representative democracy that lives up to the promises of our Constitution. The time to protect and strengthen our democracy is now.
