Eleven years ago, Palestinian terrorists fired scores of rockets at Israeli cities.
Israelis were forced to rely on hope, prayer and fortune that the rockets would miss their homes. A generation of Israeli children and families endured this reckless terrorism, knowing that running to a bomb shelter was their only protection.
Today, thanks to remarkable Israeli innovation and ingenuity, Iron Dome is now in place to intercept the rockets coming from Gaza. Just this past May, more than 1,000 rockets were intercepted by Iron Dome, saving countless Israeli lives.
But that is not the whole story.
Democrats and Republicans in Congress have voted time and again to fund Iron Dome. Between 2012 and 2021, the United States has provided more than $1 billion to help Israel build and upgrade the system.
Earlier this year, Congress approved an additional $1 billion to replenish Iron Dome after the May Gaza war.
Over the past decade, we've asked Congress—Democrats and Republicans, no matter their views on other important subjects—to approve more than $2 billion for Iron Dome funding, and they've delivered.
We applaud their support, and we proudly stand with those who stand with Israel.
Iron Dome is just one example of the pro-Israel policies that build and strengthen the U.S-Israel relationship.
The AIPAC Political Action Committee (AIPAC PAC) is a new political tool to further demonstrate our community’s support for pro-Israel members of Congress and candidates.
Bipartisan support for the U.S.-Israel relationship is essential to ensure Israel’s long-term safety and security—and our PAC reflects that core value.
We base our support only on a candidate’s views and votes that support the U.S.-Israel relationship.
As America’s largest bipartisan pro-Israel PAC, we are proud to support pro-Israel Democrats and Republicans, and to define over the course of an election cycle who in Washington is a true friend of the Jewish state.
The PAC is funded by AIPAC members who have made a contribution to this important political effort above and beyond their AIPAC support. We encourage every member to make a contribution to the PAC.
For a movement as broad and diverse as ours, we know that not every member of AIPAC supports every member of Congress the PAC features. But we all commit to ensuring Israel’s security through strong bipartisan support in Congress.
In the coming weeks and months, we will announce more pro-Israel candidates supported by the AIPAC PAC. We do so proudly and with conviction. These candidates hold the key to keeping Israel safe and the U.S.-Israel relationship strong, and we stand with them.
Marilyn Rosenthal
AIPAC PAC Director
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
