It's official: Donald Trump has endorsed reality TV mogul and millionaire Dr. Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate race.
Dr. Oz has built a lucrative multi-million dollar empire around evidence-free approaches to medicine. He advocated for pseudoscientific responses to Covid-19 and is now running on a platform disparaging public health efforts to mitigate the worst effects of the pandemic.
We are proud to stand with Malcolm Kenyatta in the Pennsylvania Senate race not just because he can flip this seat — but also because he couldn't be further from someone like Dr. Oz. He knows what it's like to see eviction notices and work a minimum wage job. If elected, he would be one of the Senate's youngest members and the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color ever to serve.
If we're going to make our government work for working people, we need to elect more leaders like Malcolm who understand the challenges we face — and will fight for the policies that will finally improve our lives for the better.
With just over a month until the primary, PA WFP will be working hard with Malcolm's campaign to get out the vote the only way we know: on the ground in communities, through one-on-one conversations with voters. But this type of organizing takes real resources.
