No one should have to wonder if they can afford to live.
Health care is a human right, which is why the Affordable Insulin Now Act that the House passed recently must do more to make sure nobody is left behind. The current bill does not account for the millions of people living in our country without insurance. The bill caps co-pays for insulin at $35 per month, but only if a person has insurance.
As Congress considers measures to provide relief to working people dealing with the sky-high cost of many prescription drugs, it is essential no one is left behind because of their insurance status or any other factor. To save lives, it is imperative that insulin and other life-saving drugs are affordable for ALL patients.
I’m writing to you today to ask you to stand with me on this — we must protect everyone from the price gouging of Big Pharma. Are you with me?
I will continue my advocacy to lower the price of insulin and other prescription drugs — AND to stop profiteering by large pharmaceutical companies. Until Big Pharma monopoly abuse is addressed, people will suffer and costs will continue to go up. We must seriously address this crisis and lower costs for every person in America.
I won’t stop fighting until everyone can get the health care they need.
In solidarity,
Pramila
