Loss and Damage, Explained 

Some impacts of climate change are so severe they cannot be prevented or adapted to. For years, vulnerable nations have requested financial assistance from developed countries to address these “losses and damages,” but their calls have gone unanswered. A New EU Regulation Could Reduce Deforestation Globally 

The European Union is one of the largest importers of commodities linked to deforestation, like cocoa and coffee. But that could change: A draft regulation would prevent products that cause deforestation or forest degradation from entering the EU market, which could significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect biodiversity.
