Lindsey Graham’s comments on Ketanji Brown Jackson’s recent nomination
underscore exactly why we must fight as hard as we can to Save the Senate
this year.

“If we get back the Senate... if we were in charge, she would not have
been before this committee. You would've had somebody more moderate than
this." - Lindsey Graham at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.
As they did to President Obama over the course of his two terms, Graham
and other Republicans even made it known that they would move to prevent
President Biden’s judicial nominees from advancing if they take power in
the Senate come this November.
There’s no doubt about it, the front lines of the battle for democracy are
in the Senate right now.
That's why Democracy for America is focused on supporting candidates who
are fighting to flip Republican-held seats and build progressive power in
the Senate.

Just imagine if Democrats didn’t have the Senate majority this year…
Mitch McConnell would have announced that there would be no hearing or
vote -- not even a cordial meeting -- on any Supreme Court nominee that
President Biden presents… and all of the Republicans in the Senate
Judiciary Committee would have approved of this obstruction.
We know that Republicans undercut President Obama’s constitutional right
to nominate a Supreme Court Justice, so there would be nothing stopping
them from doing it to President Biden if they regain power.
This only underscores how important it is for us to continue the
groundwork to not just hold the senate majority, but to Save the Senate by
building progressive power.
