John, we’re really discouraged. We had hoped that sounding the alarm about the staggering number of House Democrats retiring would make grassroots Democrats understand just how real the danger of losing our House Majority is, and how important it is for us to hit our online fundraising goals.

We had hoped that warning about the Republicans’ eye-popping fundraising would spur grassroots Democratic donors to give whatever they could to STOP a Total Trump Takeover of our democracy.

And we had hoped that activating an ultra-rare 9X match on all donations would push us over the finish line to hit our critical end-of-quarter goal. But we guess it just wasn’t enough — despite our best efforts, we still fell a little short.

Here’s the good news: We still have 7 months until Election Day, so there’s time to turn this around. But the bad news is that, if things don’t change soon, we will lose the House Majority, and MAGA extremists like Kevin McCarthy, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and Marjorie Taylor Greene will be in power.
