As a member of the IRC team focused on Afghanistan, I've seen firsthand how desperate the situation on the ground is. Parents are facing the torture of not having enough to feed their families. Children are going to bed hungry, or even dropping out of school to work to afford food.

Many families — too many families — simply cannot afford to eat. Some have resorted to eliminating meals during the day, limiting how much they eat at each meal, or eating less nourishing food just to survive.
