Newly leaked emails confirm that Trump’s top immigration advisor, Stephen Miller, is a white supremacist.

Stephen Miller is the architect behind Trump’s cruel, inhumane, and bigoted immigration policies—including tearing apart families and detaining children in deadly and traumatizing conditions.

So it was not a surprise when the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) released 900 sickening emails that confirmed he’s a white supremacist. But now that this hard evidence has come to light, we have to draw a line in the sand as a country and show that we won’t tolerate such hate in the White House.

Sign if you agree: Neither Stephen Miller, nor his hateful ideals steeped in white supremacy, should have a role in our government. Miller needs to step down now.

When working for Jeff Sessions and then as an aide to Donald Trump in 2015 and 2016, Stephen Miller emailed Breitbart to peddle disgusting white nationalist conspiracy theories like “white genocide,” link to neo-Nazi websites, and praise immigration plans backed by Adolf Hitler.  

SPLC reporter Michael Hayden found that 80% of the emails were focused on “ending nonwhite immigration to the United States”—and in all 900 emails, Hayden was “unable to find any examples of Miller writing sympathetically or even in neutral tones about any person who is nonwhite or foreign-born.”¹

Now Stephen Miller is in the White House, turning that bigotry into policy. For years, he’s been directing mass human rights abuses against immigrants, including blocking asylum-seekers, ramping up ICE raids, and implementing the unconstitutional Muslim ban.

Every day he’s in office, he’s shaping policy and endangering people at the border and in communities across the country. Keeping him in office would continue to embolden white supremacists across the country, who are behind the United States’ frightening rise in violent hate crimes.

Dozens of civil rights organizations have called for Miller’s resignation since the recent leaked emails. And now, the heads of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Black Caucus, and the Asian Pacific American Caucus, as well as more than 100 Members of Congress (including me), are also demanding that Trump fire Miller.

But we need to pressure the White House even further. White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham has come out in defense of Stephen Miller, saying that “We are lucky to have him in the White House.”

What will finally force Republicans and Trump to reject Miller’s hatred? The American people.

That’s why I’m proud to join my squad sisters and other progressive groups in promoting this petition. In order to reach the level of outrage needed to compel change, as many people as possible must call for Stephen Miller to resign or be fired. That starts with this petition.
