Friend, one thing is clear: Mitch McConnell has never faced an opponent like Amy McGrath. And he’s never faced a team like this one—the team that broke fundraising records right out of the gate, and that keeps stepping up again and again to say “Enough!” to Mitch’s obstruction and corruption. But there’s a big downside to being the biggest threat Mitch has faced in 35 years: He and his allies didn’t waste any time hitting back, and they’re preparing an onslaught of attacks that might scare an ordinary candidate. Not Amy. She’s seen tougher fights than this one, and she’s not backing down—no matter what they throw at her. And she knows we’ll be right there fighting alongside her. Mitch McConnell is no stranger to nasty attacks and dirty tactics—he built his entire political career with them. Anywhere he sees a chance to try to humiliate or hurt an opponent, he’ll do it. And he’ll cover the expense of doing it by cashing endless checks from special interest and corporate PAC allies. After all, this is the guy who wrote that he would have never won his first race “... if there had been a limit on the amount of money I could raise and spend.” (I’m not making that up.) Mitch knows he’s never faced a political fight like this one—there’s no doubt he’ll raise all the money he can and use every underhanded tactic he can to try and stop Amy in her tracks. The only question is: What will we do to respond? Thanks, Mark Mark Nickolas
