Christ Has Overcome Death -- and the World

Dear John,

The hopeful season of Resurrection Sunday is upon us. In joyful services across our land, millions will declare our Savior's victory over death: He is risen!

Yet, for many Christians, the current state of America has left them feeling "discouraged."

In a survey of over 1,800 FRC supporters conducted in February, two-thirds of respondents confessed to discouragement over the past year. Meanwhile, only 21 percent of survey respondents reported feeling "hopeful" or "expectant" in their outlook.

Those figures may sound grim, but it's hardly shocking. During the Biden administration, crises at home and abroad have multiplied. Americans have gone from economic, border, and national security to dancing on a knife's edge of inflation, disunity, global upheaval, and war.

Despite events that many view as catastrophic, God isn't surprised or alarmed. Jesus tells us: "...in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33, ESV).

It's in times like these that the people of God shake the dust off their feet from one battle and stand in confidence for the next. And at Family Research Council, we're here to back you up.

The survey also revealed FRC has become a go-to source for news and analysis, with our daily Washington Watch program -- now available online on several TV outlets in addition to the radio -- being the most popular means to stay informed.

Supporters also state they utilize our daily Washington Update emails and in-depth publications to understand public policy and cultural debates.

If you desire to be a part of FRC's mission being carried out with prayer and effectiveness, we would be grateful for your support during this season.

Your membership with FRC enables us to equip and stand with Christians who are boldly speaking and standing for truth. Among those brave believers is Paivi Rasanen, a member of Parliament in Finland who had charges of "hate speech" brought against her for expressing her biblical views on marriage and sexuality.

Despite the threats, she stood firm on the Word of God and for religious freedom.

Our friends at ADF International represented her in court. And more than 14,000 FRC supporters signed a pledge to pray for Paivi, which greatly encouraged her during this trial.

Two weeks ago, she was fully acquitted -- with the other side ordered to pay her years of legal costs. Late last week we learned that the Finnish prosecutor is appealing her acquittal, so let's continue to pray for Paivi.

Prayers avail much, and so does our united action.

In FRC's recent survey, one husband and father told us: "FRC's world updates, prayer requests, encouragement to be proactive, (and) calls to take action have enabled my wife and me to stand firm in our community by giving us tools to share with others."

I've heard similar testimonies from across the nation: parents speaking up in school board meetings, concerned citizens writing state and local leaders, and Washington Watch viewers using the biblical analysis we present to start conversations with friends and family to change hearts and minds.

Our hope isn't in Washington. Our trust is in the King of kings, whose throne is founded on righteousness and justice.

Never forget Psalm 20:7, which states: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God."

FRC's Special Advisor for Religious Freedom Andrew Brunson, raised the right question after visiting Paivi in Finland to hand-deliver the prayer pledge signed by thousands of believers like you prior to her final trial. He said we should all start asking ourselves: "Am I going to fear man or am I going to fear God?"

Knowing the love of God and the mission he has set out before us, we can joyfully pursue the call to stand for truth in the public square. May our lives honor him as we stand faithful!

I sincerely hope you have a meaningful Easter week with your family and loved ones. Thank you for standing with FRC today and every day to ensure that the doors for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be shared across America and the world remain open. God bless!
