Dear friends and neighbors,

Since I was inaugurated as Seattle's 57th Mayor on January 1, 2022, I have led with a vision for "*One Seattle*", where we work together to solve the challenges we face by uniting around progress and common values.

Today, we officially cross the 100 day mark, and I'm excited to share with you details of key efforts we've advanced so far. In these first 100 days, we've acted with urgency, driving forward the kind of substantive efforts and sustainable solutions necessary to restore Seattle and make this City a place we can all be proud to call home. There are no shortage of crises facing Seattle -- from public safety to homelessness, the affordable housing shortage to income inequality, climate change to transportation infrastructure needs.

I am confident we can -- and we will -- make change, but we cannot do this alone. Working together, bringing everyone to the table, and activating our neighborhoods and business, nonprofit, and philanthropic communities, we can do so much to ensure Seattle is on the path to becoming the City we dream for it to be.

Going forward, we will continue to publish these newsletters on a regular basis, sharing the latest updates from our office and across our City departments. Thank you for engaging on the critical challenges facing Seattle.

100 Days in Office; 100 Days of Action

In just a few short months in office, Mayor Harrell is taking immediate action to address the challenges facing Seattle. From improving, streamlining, and redesigning existing City processes to building new relationships with the City Council and regional, state, and federal partners, the work being done now is critical for long-term progress.

*Addressing Homelessness with Urgency and Compassion*
Mayor Harrell is addressing this crisis by helping those living unsheltered access shelter and services and keeping sidewalks, parks, and public areas clear. In three months, the City has made over 300 referrals to shelter and removed 30 encampments. Through creation the Unified Care Team, Mayor Harrell has brought together six departments to streamline coordination and improve data collection, customer service, and results. The mayor is also supporting public-private-philanthropic collaboration through the Regional Homelessness Authority's "Partnership for Zero" initiative.

Standing with Ukraine: Local Action During a Global Crisis
*In response to Russia's unprovoked and hostile invasion of Ukraine, Mayor Harrell issued an Executive Order to stand with the people of Ukraine in defense of democracy. He organized the Mayors' Concert for Ukraine and Refugees Worldwide, helping raise over $350,000 for the Seattle Refugee Fund.

Concrete flows at the West Seattle Bridge

*West Seattle Bridge Begins Receiving Concrete Deliveries
*Last week, the West Seattle Bridge received its first delivery of concrete. The first pours are for new expansion joints as part of major maintenance work. With an end to the concrete strike possibly in sight, repair work on the bridge is continuing ahead, as SDOT works to determine how the strike may affect the reopening schedule – if at all.

*King County Metro and Seattle City Light Roll Out Battery-Electric Bus Service and New Charging Facility*
Reliable transit service powered by clean energy is crucial to meeting our climate goals. Mayor Harrell joined King County Metro to celebrate their new facility, which can charge nine battery-powered buses at once.
