Did you see my last e-mail John?

If not, I need you to read it right away.

Just the other day, a federal district court in Washington, D.C. ruled against
the Center for American Liberty in our landmark religious liberty lawsuit
versus the United States Capitol Police Board.

This is our case defending Reverend Pat Mahoney – an internationally known
pro-life activist and pastor – the right to worship in public.

And now, we only have a few days to appeal the court’s decision… before Good
Friday.

That means the Center for American Liberty needs to raise $50,000 in the next
72 hours to afford the legal fees associated with this appeal.

We can’t do that without you, John.

After you read my letter below, please help us afford our emergency appeal to
defend religious liberty by sending a tax-deductible contribution of any amount
to the Center for American Liberty today. <>

Subject: Your religious liberty is on the line

Date: Thursday April 7, 2022

There’s not much time, John, so I’m going to cut right to the chase.

The Center for American Liberty needs your help to file an emergency appeal
with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of Reverend Patrick Mahoney
and his parishioners.

HELP US DEFEND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM!
<[link removed]>
This week, a federal district court in Washington, D.C. ruled against us in
our critical religious liberty lawsuit.

In case you’re not familiar, we sued the United States Capitol Police Board
for unconstitutionally denying Reverend Patrick Mahoney and his parishioners
the ability to exercise their religious liberty by holding a peaceful prayer
service outside the U.S. Capitol on Good Friday.

Rev. Mahoney is an internationally known pro-life activist and Presbyterian
minister.

For the past 20 years, Rev. Mahoney organized prayer groups near the U.S.
Capitol on Good Friday.

That was until last year when unelected bureaucrats rejected his permit
application.

They even threatened to arrest Rev. Mahoney and his parishioners if they dared
to show up and exercise their right to pray.

Meanwhile, they’ve given others the right to protest outside the U.S. Capitol
if their protests have the support of a member of Congress.

THAT’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Extremist politicians like Rep. Cori Bush don’t have greater First Amendment
rights than anyone else to speak on public sidewalks and public parks outside
the U.S. Capitol…

…and they certainly don’t have a constitutional right to veto—or pocket
veto—private citizens speech they disagree with.

So, we took the United States Capitol Police Board to court – arguing that
Rev. Mahoney’s right to religious expression has been censored without any
justification.

The bad news is the district court ruled against Rev. Mahoney’s constitutional
rights.

And now, we only have 24 hours to file an emergency appeal with the D.C.
Circuit Court of Appeals if we want to overturn the district court’s decision
before Good Friday.

That means the Center for American Liberty urgently needs to raise $50,000 to
pay for the legal fees needed to win.

And nobody understands how critical it is to defend the First Amendment than
you, John.

Will you please help us file an emergency appeal on behalf of Reverend Patrick
Mahoney by sending a tax-deductible contribution of $25, $35, $50 or more
within the next 24 hours?

Thank you for your prompt response, John.

Sincerely,

Harmeet K. Dhillon

P.S. This appeal represents so much more than simply Rev. Mahoney’s right to
religious liberty.

This lawsuit defends YOUR constitutional right to worship where and how YOU
choose.

Big Government has no right to stop a Good Friday prayer service.

We desperately need to overturn the district court’s decision to prevent the
likes of Nancy Pelosi from picking winners and losers with respect to
constitutional rights.

Because if they can take away a renowned pastor’s right to gather a prayer
group on Good Friday, they can also take away your right to speak, pray, and
worship in public with the flip of a switch.

Please, John send the Center for American Liberty an emergency gift of $25,
$35, $50 or more to help us file an emergency appeal in our lawsuit against the
U.S. Capitol Police Board.
