   Big news, John.
The Biden administration recently announced that they will end Title 42, a
controversial Trump-era asylum policy that targets Black migrants.
Title 42 is a Trump-era immigration policy that has resulted in millions
losing their fundamental right to seek asylum. This policy specifically
and disproportionately impacts Black migrants from countries like Haiti,
which is why it's been criticized by groups like the ACLU. For weeks, Cori
and Sen. Cory Booker have been trying to reverse this policy, and call
attention to the harsh treatment of Black migrants along the United States
   border.
Especially now in light of reports of Black migrants in Ukraine being
denied refuge to other countries – it’s urgent to remember that anti-Black
racism isn’t just a local issue, but a global crisis.

The unfortunate truth is that Black migrants are deported twice as often
and face inhumane, violent treatment at our own border. From mass
deportations of asylum-seeking Haitians, to the Ukrainian refugee crisis –
there are constant examples of the challenges Black and brown migrants
   face when searching for safety.

We’re happy to see progress being made, but we must continue speaking out
about the unjust treatment Black people face in the U.S. and abroad.

Let's make this clear: Black migrants must be protected no
   matter where they're seeking refuge.
That means Black and brown migrants fleeing Ukraine must be welcomed in
neighboring countries. And it means Haitian migrants seeking asylum in the
   US must be welcomed here.
That's why Cori led House Members in the call for the Biden administration
to review the disparate treatment of Black migrants in the U.S. and
reverse anti-Black policies like Title 42. And thanks to everyone who
helped sign our petition and amplify our message – we were able to put
pressure on the Biden administration to take action.
But we know that our work isn’t over yet,
   John.

make sure Cori has the funds we need to continue organizing and
legislating in Congress for the policies we need to protect all Black
   lives and livelihoods?
