Hi John,
In recent years, there has been an exodus of businesses and families fleeing liberal states and resettling in conservative states. During the pandemic, this trend accelerated because of the stark contrast in quality of life between conservative states that embraced freedom and liberal states that embraced lockdowns. The latest data revealed that two of America’s most iconic industries were not immune.
In 2021, tech-giants Tesla, Oracle, and Hewlett Packard left California in search of lower taxes, less regulations, and sanity in conservative-led states. They weren’t the only ones. For the first time in recent history, Florida and Texas created more tech jobs than California. Similarly, several Wall Street titans, including Goldman Sachs, relocated from the high-tax Empire State to income-tax-free Florida.
While low taxes attract businesses, conservative-led states have also established themselves as the best place to raise a family. Parents have been attracted by schools that prioritize academics instead of politics, safe neighborhoods where kids can play, and lower costs of living.
Sincerely,
Matt
