John,
The Senate has voted to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
This is a triumphant moment for our country. One without parallel in the nearly 250-year history of the United States.
For the first time in our history, a Black woman will serve as one of nine justices presiding over the most consequential cases in the nation.
It was the Supreme Court that decided in Dred Scott v. Sandford in 1857 that slaves were not to be considered citizens.
They decided in the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson case the legal doctrine of “separate but equal” which ushered in more than a half-century of Jim Crow.
But the Supreme Court also integrated public schools with Brown v. Board of Education and legalized interracial marriages like Judge Jackson’s nationwide with Loving v. Virginia.
The people we put on the Supreme Court chart the course of our nation and its history, and I’m thrilled such a talented jurist received bipartisan support to become a Supreme Court Justice — the first confirmed by a Democratic Senate since 2010.
The appointment of Justice Jackson exemplifies how crucial our Democratic majorities are, and it’s why today I’m asking for your support to defend those majorities this November.
Will you rush a donation of $10, $25, or $50 today to help my re-election campaign and support new and incumbent Democratic candidates as we defend ourselves from the Republican attacks that are sure to come?

President Biden made a phenomenal choice by nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
America will be a fairer, more just nation with her on the bench.
Judge Jackson’s confirmation comes at a crucial time for our country.
Since the 2013 Shelby County v. Holder decision, the Voting Rights Act has been under constant attack.
A Mississippi abortion ban could overturn Roe v. Wade as soon as this summer.
We need more Justices like Judge Jackson — and to ensure that, we have to defend our majorities in Congress.
Send a donation to my re-election campaign today. Any amount helps.
Thanks for everything you’ve done to bring us to this monumental moment in our nation’s history.
Let’s defend the progress we’ve fought so hard to make together.
