Dear John,
Welcome to a new edition of the #BadFaithMedicine Breakdown. This month we are breaking down how anti-abortion groups acting in bad faith is not exclusive to their dangerous and unethical medical practices, which brings us to our first example: the Fake Clinic Spotlight of the Month.
Fake Clinic Spotlight of the Month: Choose Life Marketing
As we see anti-abortion fake clinics scrambling to position themselves as a solution to the post-Roe world, there are key players that are contributing to their perceived legitimacy. Choose Life Marketing is one of a handful of marketing firms with the sole purpose of creating websites for different parts of the anti-abortion movement, including anti-abortion fake clinics. They even offer services to target fake clinic ads to users inside an abortion clinic. [1] Imagine scrolling your phone in the waiting room as you prep for an abortion care appointment, and finding a shaming, deceptive advertisement for an anti-abortion fake clinic nearby, because they know you’re in there? Disturbing. Anti-abortion fake clinics and marketing firms dedicated to their success is the perfect storm to make all of their medical lies and disinformation easier to access and even harder to decipher.
Until the day anti-abortion fake clinics are no longer a threat to public health, here are some resources to help you stay informed and keep out a sharp eye for fake clinics near you:

As we are approaching a decision from the Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case that has the potential to overturn or gut Roe v. Wade, the #BadFaithMedicine Breakdown will be taking a deeper look into anti-abortion fake clinics using this moment to pad their pockets with public funds and push more dangerous disinformation. Have an idea you want us to cover in a future #BadFaithMedicine breakdown? Reply to this message and let us know, whether it’s a fake clinic chain you’ve spotted, a tactic they’ve used, or a general question on how to fight anti-abortion fake clinics near you.
