Our current representative in NY-01, Lee Zeldin, was just down south at Mar-a-Lago to raise money alongside Donald Trump. For years, Zeldin has aligned himself with a president who was impeached twice, incited an insurrection, and has consistently praised Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
It's just the latest example of why we need to flip this toss-up seat from red to blue, strengthen our Democratic House majority, and avoid two more years of having a Trump sycophant represent us in Congress.
Far-right Republicans know this race is a toss-up, and we can be sure they're going to spend whatever they can to keep it red. But for us, this election is our chance for real, progressive change. We can elect someone who will fight for what matters to the people here, not just bow down to Trump and the extremists in his party.
