Friend,

Last week, President Biden signed our bipartisan postal reform bill into law. But it’s not all roses with Donald Trump’s handpicked Postmaster General Louis DeJoy still running the agency.

While our legislation protects Post Office services and finances, DeJoy is quietly pushing for a new fleet of 160,000 USPS mail trucks, and here’s the kicker:

DeJoy is insisting on a fleet of already antiquated gas-powered vehicles to be purchased with over $11 billion in taxpayer dollars.

At less than 9 miles per gallon, it’s the equivalent of adding 4.3 million passenger vehicles to our roads that would emit 20 million metric tons of CO2 over the next twenty years.

Add your name to my petition demanding that USPS reverse course and purchase an all-electric mail truck fleet. It’s not too late to stop DeJoy from pushing this through.

With all of the evidence of the climate crisis afflicting the globe.

With fossil fuel companies inflating the cost of gas as they reap record profits.

I just can’t even imagine how anyone — even Trump’s handpicked Postmaster General — could justify this.

What benefit do we stand to gain from emitting more toxic CO2 into the atmosphere?

How can DeJoy justify nearly 160,000 expensive, inefficient gas-powered trucks as a cost-effective expenditure of taxpayer resources?

Or is this just a move of petty political trolling on the part of a Trump appointee and former Republican National Committee finance chair at the expense of our very planet?

Whatever DeJoy’s reasons, I know one thing: We need to stop him before it’s too late.

Please, add your name to demand the USPS reverse course on purchasing this gas-powered fleet of mail trucks and instead invest in a 100%-electric mail truck fleet. Let’s be as loud as possible.
