Dear John, I’m thrilled to hear that the Biden/Harris administration will lift the Trump-era Title 42 policy next month! This policy, which treats migrants as a public health threat and turns asylum seekers away at the border, does not keep our communities safe and perpetuates anti-immigrant sentiments and violence. In February, I led a letter with Congresswoman Velázquez and Congresswoman Pressley demanding answers on how the CDC was justifying the ongoing exclusion of asylum seekers in light of the changing regulations. Like too much of our immigration system, this policy was rooted in racism and xenophobia, and scapegoating immigrants is not the solution to the pandemic. But while this is an important win, the work doesn’t stop here. I’ve been a dedicated advocate for our immigrant communities my entire career, and with your help, I’ll continue to work towards reforming our broken system and delivering a pathway to citizenship. Ending Title 42 is one important piece of rebuilding a system that prioritizes the health and safety of migrants and asylum seekers and recognizes immigrants as essential. But there is still work to do. Will you join me in this fight? Together, Judy DONATE Judy Chu | AMB Consulting, 1531 Purdue Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90025 Unsubscribe
