The resurgence of the strength of the labor movement is more exciting than ever and as socialists, it’s our job to show up in working class solidarity! Join SDSA and Starbucks Worker Organizing Committee members at Cal Anderson Park for a few speakers who will give us updates on the state of the unionizing movement here in Seattle and why labor is the backbone of the socialist movement. Then, we’ll plaster the town with 500 UNION STRONG posters.

If folks are up for it, we’ll meet up for drinks in Capitol Hill afterwards.

Stephanie Gallardo is a teacher, a daughter of a refugee and educators, granddaughter of immigrants and farmworkers, and is running for Congress in Washington’s 9th Congressional District. Let’s get out there and collect signatures to get Stephanie Gallardo on the ballot! We need 2,000 signatures from registered voters in the district, and will be tabling with Seattle DSA at the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station on Saturday, April 16 from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Look for the Orange Gallardo table setup near the Light Rail Station entrance along Beacon Ave S. Once everyone arrives, we will split into groups and cover some ground in the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses, talking to folks about Stephanie’s vision and campaign. Shortly after 11AM, we will send some volunteers down to Othello Station and setup a second table. If you would like to join the Othello Station tabling team, PLEASE arrive on time!
