The paper, appearing in the April 2022 issue of Health Affairs, analyzes how
housing code enforcement systems in Boston address tenants’ reports of asthma triggers.
The authors find that race is the most important factor predicting the incidence of asthma triggers and municipal responses, and propose policy prescriptions for reducing these disparities.
Please join Evan Lemire, a computational scientist in environmental health at Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, on April 12 for a detailed discussion of the paper’s data, methods, and conclusions. Health Affairs Senior Deputy Editor Sarah Dine will host.
