At NextGen, our community is at the heart of our movement. Everything we do is made possible by the incredible network of volunteers, organizers, and activists such as yourself.
That’s why earlier this year, we asked you to take our 2022 survey to tell us what issues mattered most to you.
And you answered. Over 1,000 of you took the time to share what’s important to you this year, and we’re deeply grateful for that. Here’s what you told us:
- Our lawmakers must fight for climate action. In the responses to our survey, climate change consistently came up as a top issue of priority, and we couldn’t agree more. Our lawmakers have the tools to put us on a path that strengthens and prioritizes a safer climate, and we’re going to make sure they use them.
- We’ve got to protect and fight for the right to vote. This year, our movement to ensure every American has the freedom to vote is as crucial as ever, and we’re glad you’re with us. We’re going to continue to take action against rampant voter suppression and advocate to make voting safer and more accessible for all Americans, especially young people, people of color, and the working class.
- Access to affordable health care and the fight for reproductive rights is of top concern. No American should have to put the price of a hospital or doctor's visit above their health, and they shouldn’t be restricted from accessing that care, either. With restrictions against abortion across the country continuing and the Supreme Court set to rule on whether to overturn Roe v. Wade this summer, we’re facing an attack not just on reproductive rights, but on essential health care as a whole. Abortion is health care, and health care is a human right -- our laws need to reflect that.
Friend, our mission is guided by people like yourself, and we’re so thankful that you took the time to share your priorities and thoughts for this year. As we continue our work, we’re going to keep your priorities at the center of everything we do.
