Tell the EPA: Dacthal is dangerous!

TAKE ACTION
[[link removed]]

Hi –

Nearly 30 years ago, the Environmental Protection Agency classified Dacthal, a pesticide used on leafy greens, as a possible carcinogen. Their research noted increases in liver and thyroid tumors, as well as damage to the lungs and kidneys.

Despite these alarming findings, almost 30 years later Dacthal is still being used on leafy greens like kale, collard and mustard greens – and our health is being put at risk! In fact, nearly 60 percent of kale samples sold in the U.S. were contaminated with Dacthal, according to EWG’s analysis of USDA data.

Help us get the message to the EPA: Dacthal is dangerous, and its use must be banned! We need 100,000 signatures by the end of April for the most impact, so please, sign the petition now. >>

In 2005, the manufacturer of Dacthal terminated its registration for use on certain crops after studies found that its breakdown products were persistent in our environment and could contaminate our drinking water sources. This led to the European Union prohibiting ALL uses of Dacthal.

Yet the EPA won’t do the same to protect us.

The risks Dacthal poses to our health and our environment cannot be ignored any longer – the EPA must stop its use!

Tell the EPA to listen to their own scientists’ research and ban the use of Dacthal! Click here to add your name to the petition:
