Heritage Turbocharges the Fight for Border Security

What’s new: The open border is one of the biggest national threats the U.S. faces today. To confront this, Heritage launched the new Center for Border Security and Immigration.

For such a time as this: This center comes not a moment too soon, as the Biden administration abandons its obligation to secure the nation’s borders and lets more than a million illegal immigrants cross into the United States in just the past six months. As visiting fellow Mark Morgan explains, the border crisis is about to get much, much worse.

The Wrong Solution to Higher Gas Prices

A growing problem: Americans are paying record prices for gasoline, with prices in some areas topping $5 per gallon.

Who’s to blame? Hint: it’s not Putin, as President Joe Biden claims. In fact, it’s the Biden administration’s disastrous environmental and energy policies that set us on the path to rising gas prices well before the war in Ukraine. 

The wrong solution: Congressional liberals have offered a variety of “solutions”—ranging from a new tax holiday to more reckless government spending—that will do nothing to lower prices.

Our take: “Policy gimmicks under consideration by Congress," write Heritage experts, “would have counterproductive effects for the economy, including driving inflation even higher.”

In the news: Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts appeared on several Fox News and Fox Business shows last week to spread the truth about some of the biggest threats our country is facing.

Coming out swinging: Roberts pulled no punches, speaking candidly about President Joe Biden’s border catastrophe, historic inflation, and the fight to empower parents in their children’s education.
