Yesterday I went to a Medicare for All rally in Tacoma. It was held yesterday because it was the anniversary of the death of Daniel Desnoyers, who died because he couldn’t get the medication he needed. Why couldn’t he get it? He lost his insurance coverage after not paying a $20 fee that he wasn’t aware of. Daniel was only 29 years old. Ever since, Daniel’s father Scott has been working to get universal healthcare in the US.

Daniel’s death is a senseless tragedy. His health insurance company and the entire health insurance industry has blood on its hands. Over 300,000 Covid deaths in the US have been due to lack of healthcare.

That’s why I keep fighting.
