Hi Friend,

Chicago’s #FightFor15 workers are suing McDonald’s for epidemic and structural workplace violence issues.  Yesterday, workers met at City Hall to announce this lawsuit and hold McDonald’s accountable for their failure to keep workers safe. #FightFor15 workers are telling McDonald’s to give them a seat at the table to fix this problem together.

The lawsuit highlights some of the biggest risks workers face on the job: lack of safety measures in store’s drive thrus, counters, and bathrooms. Chicago’s #FightFor15 workers previously called the company out on workplace violence last May after filing an official complaint against the company for workplace violence incidents and received nothing from McDonald’s.

It’s time we make McDonald’s take responsibility and gives us a solution: a union for all and a safe workplace.

Hear the story of  Diana Thomas, a @McDonalds worker, was doing her job as a cashier when a customer jumped on the counter and threatened to beat her.

No one should fear going to work. It is McDonald’s responsibility to keep workers safe from violence. #FightFor15
