John – First Politico reported that Republicans were considering more “ruthless” redistricting tactics. Then The New York Times reported that “G.O.P. Presses for Greater Edge on Florida and Ohio Congressional Maps.”

They’re both right. Let’s take a closer look at some of the craven nonsense Republicans are trying to pull in Ohio (but first, will you pitch in to help us fight gerrymandering nationwide?):

1) After the state Supreme Court knocked down their first three manipulated state legislative maps, the GOP proposed a FOURTH (equally manipulated).
2) They’re reportedly talking about impeaching the Chief Justice, a member of their own party who voted against their maps.
3) Their actions are so egregious that they could be held in contempt of court.
4) And they promoted a fringe legal theory that says state courts don’t have the power to redraw gerrymandered congressional maps.

The bottom line is they’re trying to run out the clock before the 2022 elections – and if our movement doesn’t fight back, they could be successful!
