This is good policy and simply the right thing to do:
Our elected representatives in Congress are supposed to serve the people, not their personal financial interests.
Yet, all too often, we see that Members of Congress use information from briefings and knowledge of pending federal legislation to enrich themselves.
That’s why Pramila joined Senator Elizabeth Warren to introduce the Bipartisan Ban on Congressional Stock Ownership Act to stop Members of Congress from trading stocks, once and for all. It’s good policy, and it’s simply the right thing to do.
We cannot leave the door open for corruption any longer. Will you send a message to your representative demanding they take action to ban individual stock trading for members of Congress and their families?

It’s hard to find a lot of common ground on any policy around Capitol Hill these days. But recent polling suggests that Democrats, Republicans, and Independents overwhelmingly agree that members of Congress should be BANNED from trading stocks.
As long as members of Congress and their families are allowed to own and trade individual stocks, it will be harder to make progress on Medicare for All, making the wealthiest pay their fair share of taxes, bold solutions to the climate crisis, a $15 federal minimum wage, and so much more. Stock trades will only fuel policies that profit big corporations AND Members of Congress, not the people.
So, can you send a message to your representative today? Lawmakers in the House and Senate need to focus on legislating for the people — not the stock market.
