# [#] Hi John, I hope you’re having a great weekend.
Last week was a very busy week, but I wanted to make sure that I reached out with a quick message about how proud I am of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Justice Jackson is a brilliant legal mind with the utmost character and integrity. Now that she’s been confirmed by the U.S. Senate, she will soon be sworn in as the first Black woman to ever serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.
John, history has finally been made — this moment is long overdue, and I could not be more excited to watch what Justice Jackson will accomplish in the years to come.

As Justice Jackson said on Friday on the White House South Lawn, “It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a Black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. But we've made it. All of us."
Congratulations to Justice Jackson. She is the first, but she will not be the last.
— Derek
